1 - Old Blackwell

Hole 1

407 Yards, PAR 4

Slightly uphill, trees right and left of the fairway, which slopes from left to right. A large oak tree on the right side of the fairway protects the approach to the green.

2 - The Ponds

Hole 2

474 Yards, PAR 5

Drive over water. There are trees along both sides of the wide fairway. For those attempting to reach the green in two there is a pond in front of the green which threatens a poorly struck shot.

3 - The Copse

Hole 3

142 Yards, PAR 3

A short hole with out-of-bounds close on the left. Bunkers at the front and on the right protect a green, which slopes from back to front.

4 - Blands Corner

Hole 4

390 Yards, PAR 4

A straight drive is essential with out-of-bounds close on the left side of the hole all the way to the green. There is water on the right, near the green.

5 - Barn

Hole 5

161 Yards, PAR 3

This par three appears simple enough but the long narrow green is well guarded by three strategically placed bunkers.

6 - Spinney

Hole 6

338 Yards, PAR 4

This is a fairly short par four but large trees both left and right make a straight drive essential. A fairway bunker is well positioned on the right of the fairway to catch the errant drive.

7 - Whitelaws Walk

Hole 7

207 Yards, PAR 3

A fairly straightforward par 3 measuring over 200 yards but with out-of-bounds on the right and over the back of the green. Bunkers guard either side of the green.

8 - Feethams

Hole 8

337 Yards, PAR 4

Drive over the crest of the hill to a fairway, which doglegs to the left. There are trees on the inside of the dog-leg. The green slopes sharply to the right.

9 - Tall Trees

Hole 9

372 Yards, PAR 4

Trees and out-of-bounds along the right side of the fairway. The green is quite open for the second shot.

10 - Ice House

Hole 10

294 Yards, PAR 4

A short par 4 with trees both right and left. The second shot is between two very tall mature trees over two bunkers to a green, which slopes from front to back.

11 - The Limes

Hole 11

359 Yards, PAR 4

A dog-leg to the left requires a good drive through an avenue of very large lime trees. The second shot is to a long green, which slopes from front to back. Out-of-bounds to the left rear of the green.

12 - Havelock Allan

Hole 12

164 Yards, PAR 3

This hole plays much longer than expected being uphill to the green. A deep bunker at the front right of the green calls for a precise tee-shot. The undulating green provides a tough test of putting ability.

13 - Great North Road

Hole 13

547 Yards, PAR 5

This is a true par five, not reachable in two for the club golfer. It dog-legs to the right with large trees on the corner and a hedge on the right for the first 175 yards screens a water hazard. The green, which slopes from right to left, is guarded on the right by a deep bunker and on the left by a large mature tree.

14 - Hillcrest

Hole 14

208 Yards, PAR 3

The length of this par three makes it a challenge being uphill all the way. A bunker guards the front right hand side of the green.

15 - Tennis Court

Hole 15

295 Yards, PAR 4

A short par 4 requiring a precise tee shot between trees and over a water hazard. A carry of 150 yards is required to clear the water and land on a fairway, which slopes from left to right. Two formidable bunkers must be cleared to reach the green, which has a wall and out-of-bounds at the rear.

16 - Quakers Way

Hole 16

531 Yards, PAR 5

A very accurate drive is required between trees (the gap is 25 yards across at 200 yards). The second shot is blind over a hill to a fairway, which slopes gently left to right. The green slopes steeply from front to back and is guarded on the left by a deep bunker.

17 - Old Seventh

Hole 17

168 Yards, PAR 3

The green is over the crest of a slight rise and is protected by two small bunkers, one on each side of the front of the green. Out-of-bounds is close on the left of the green.

18 - British Pavilion

Hole 18

190 Yards, PAR 3

A psychologically difficult hole with the out-of-bounds car park close to the left of the green. A bunker 20 yards short and right of the green and another two bunkers right and left of the green ensure a tricky finish to the round.
