Blackwell Grange Golf Club in the Teesside & District Union of Golf Clubs League
The Teesside Union is the premier men’s golf league in our area, and Blackwell Grange Golf Club is proud to compete in the prestigious First Division. This league represents some of the finest golf talent across the region, delivering competitive matchplay at the highest level.
We are also delighted to have the support of SG Petch Darlington as our team sponsor.
Format and Structure
The league matches follow an 18-hole singles matchplay format, with:
- Top 6 players competing off scratch.
- Remaining 6 players competing off handicap, with a full difference allowance (maximum course handicap of 12).
Our 12-player team is selected based on:
- General good play and consistent performance.
- Previous match success.
- Low handicaps for scratch players.
Match Details
- Matches are held on Wednesday evenings, from early May to early August.
- Tee times are between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.
- After the match, players and teams enjoy a complimentary meal.

Blackwell Grange competes against top clubs in the area, including:
- Bishop Auckland
- Castle Eden
- Darlington
- Eaglescliffe
- Hartlepool
- Rockcliffe Hall
This high level of competition provides an exciting challenge for players and a source of pride for our club.
