The Dales Alliance was formed in 1966 to allow weekend competitive golf between clubs early and late in the season. Five other clubs participate in the league: 

Bishop Auckland 


Thirsk and Northallerton 



The format sees each team host a match in both series - spring and summer. Ten man teams are sent out in five pairs. The format is betterball stableford off 90% handicap. At the end of the matches the aggregate score of all five pairings is then used to determine the winning team which receive 6 league points. 5 points for 2nd place down to 1 point for 6th place.

At the end of the season (after completion of the spring and autumn matches) the winning team receive a prize and shield with individual prizes given to the top 5 pairs in each match.  

The entry fee is £10 per person, this includes a one course meal. Eligibility is open to all members over the age of 18 with an active handicap of 18 or below.

  After completion of the 2017 spring series Blackwell Grange are in first place by 1 point. Bishop Auckland are 2nd place.
